Hong Kong Halal is an independent guide. We are not part of, or endorsed by, the Trustees of the Islamic Community Fund or any restaurant listed. No restaurant pays to appear, and none can pay to change its certificate type.
Certification
Whether a place is halal, halal kitchen or halal friendly comes from one document only: the Halal Certified Food Premises list published by The Incorporated Trustees of the Islamic Community Fund of Hong Kong. The version on this site is dated 30 September 2026, and has 239 premises in Hong Kong. We leave out the Macau section and the two airline kitchens, which serve passengers on request.
We copy the certificate type and expiry date exactly as the list gives them. Where the expiry date has passed, or the list says the renewal is in process, the listing says so (22 at the moment). We do not remove those places, because a lapsed date on the list is often a renewal not yet published.
Everything else
- Opening hours, ratings, photos and services come from each restaurant's Google Maps listing (200 of 239 have one we could match). Ratings are Google's, not ours.
- Mosques and prayer rooms (67) and Muslim-friendly hotels (60, with CrescentRating scores) come from the Hong Kong Tourism Board's Muslim travel pages.
- The nearest MTR exit and walking time are worked out from OpenStreetMap's station exits. Walking time assumes a normal pace and allows for streets not being straight lines; treat it as a guide.
How often
We re-check the Trustees' list every month and update the site when a new version appears. Each page shows the date of the list it was built from.
Before you eat
Certification can change between lists. If it matters to you, ask the restaurant to show its current certificate, or email the Trustees at halal@islamictrusthk.org. If you find something wrong here, tell us and we will check it against the source.
